Programs

We offer part time and full time school options for preschool through elementary school. The preschool program is half day. Parents have a choice of hybrid education or full time schooling for elementary aged children.

Curriculum

Our curriculum is prayerfully decided upon and is re-evaluated throughout the year and at the end of every school year. Additional resources may be used to focus on student interests, specific holidays or for academic interventions.

Tuition

We strive to offer competitive tuition prices. The tuition covers the school year:  August until May. Payments are accepted each month via cash or check.

Rooted In Faith Academy

Welcome to Rooted in Faith Academy! We are a Christian based one room schoolhouse in Minooka, IL. The Lord called us to open our home in 2024 to other families looking for a different option for schooling. We offer a homeschool atmosphere for preschool and elementary aged children. We pray together, learn together, play together, read together and even cook together. We are opening not just our home, but our hearts, welcoming your family into our own.

Multi Age Learning

Rooted in Faith Academy will educate preschoolers through elementary aged students in one room. Our preschool curriculum, phonics/reading and mathematics will be taught in grade specific groups. Bible, Science, Social Sciences and Art will be taught as a whole group, multi-age lesson.

Learning together helps nurture a sense of community and allows for the children to become a family of learners who support and care for each other. The children are allowed to progress at their own developmental age, not their chronological age. Younger students are encouraged to learn from older students while giving older students opportunities to reinforce their knowledge by teaching and mentoring. This approach prepares students to thrive in diverse and real-world settings.

About Me

Hello! My name is Lauryn and I am the owner of Rooted in Faith Academy. I am married to my husband, Tom and we have three children. Easton, Walker and Cole. Tom & I prioritize our children’s education and we sought out the Lord’s guidance on the next steps for schooling. He answered those prayers, guiding us to open Rooted in Faith Academy.

I began my teaching journey as a teaching assistant in a daycare setting. During that time, I attended Joliet Junior College and completed my degree at the University of Saint Francis. I returned to school to earn my masters degree in Differentiated Instruction.

I started my teaching career as a special education teacher in public school and most recently worked as a general education teacher at a private school. I hold a current IL teaching license for both general education and special education.

I am so blessed to be able to bring my career experience home to share with my own children & yours!
